If you're looking to rent a condo in Folly Beach that has access to a pool, you can't get much closer to the pool than 16 Turtle Bay. Situated next door, you need only step out the back door, walk through the locked gate, and you are there.
You can see the pool from the unit
Parents can watch over their children from the top or lower deck as you have full visibility to the pool from the end unit. That is the practical difference between a condo with a pool somewhere in the complex and one with the pool in view: you are not walking down to check, and you are not choosing between sitting with your book and keeping an eye on the water.
When the pool is open
The pool is open approximately April through October each year, with exact dates depending on the weather. It is professionally serviced and cleaned on a regular basis, and there are numerous chaise lounges circling it.
If you are booking outside that window, plan around the beach and the dock rather than the pool. Both are available year-round, and Folly in the off-season is quiet in a way that suits some guests better than July does.
What you don't have to pack
Pool towels and beach towels are both provided, so neither has to come out of your luggage allowance. The unit also has children's floats and toys on the garage shelving for guests to use. Beach chairs are supplied as well.
The rest of the water
The pool is not the only water here. The community fishing dock on the Folly River is steps from the door and open year-round, and the river wraps the property on two sides. The Atlantic is about half a mile away — a ten-minute walk, or a couple of minutes on a bike.
The unit itself
16 Turtle Bay is a three-bedroom, three-bathroom end-unit townhome, and each bedroom has its own bathroom. There are two decks on the water, gigabit fiber, and a private garage with EV charging. It sleeps six.
